Another Day, Another Fog

Alarm rang off at 7:30 this morning with a cacophony of screeching monkeys to facilitate it..  No sign of sunshine yet, and a breif peek out of my creaking door, did not disclose any hope of same.  The same fog that has blanketed the town for the past two weeks, continues to swirl around the metal gates of the compound. 

With my blanket wrapped around me,  I stepped into the kitchen to light up the fire and boil my pot of bath water.  Much to the villages amusement, it has been discovered that I crouch TWICE a day, in a plastic tub and douse myself, despite the cold.  With a smaller pot on my second fire, is my morning milk for my precious coffee.  Unlike the Middle East, this is a "chai" society, and lovely as "Masala chai" IS, I yearn for my first cup of morning coffee. Which brings me to my request- SOMEONE  Pleeeeeease send me a "on the go" coffee mug so I can take my coffee with me in the mornings to the school....Oh, the little luxeries of life.

Now, here I sit "blogging" in the bed, in the dark, as the DM ( Local District Magistrate) has declared today, another Holiday, due to extreme cold!

And I remind myself that this is "an Adventure", just like all the books in the local library!  Indiana Jones, watch out, here we come!
